The Cause of Depression
I’m not a therapist, so don’t take my word for it.
But here’s a hunch based on what I’ve seen worked (for me, and my wife).
Depression is a refusal to accept the truth that happened, combined with the view that there’s no more hope.
Which means, solving a depressive case would require two things:
- The acceptance of what is being rejected
- Allowing the depressed to perceive or create hope in a hopeless situation
Sounds tough.
But it’s not impossible.
Because the part of ourselves that rejects the truth doesn’t see the full picture. So the “truth” we know it to be isn’t the complete truth.
Start there.
And you might find that everything begins to shift.
Perhaps The Art of Possibility and Pathways to Possibility will help along the way.
